Norming

• vent time, (case conferencing?)
• safety in expression
• feel safe to express opinion without backlash
• "parking lot" in PLC room
• get the facts, consider the source, is it rumor, discussion, directive
  
• it's ok to make mistakes
• prioritize problems: what is really important to talk about? don't waste time on non-essential issues.
• delegation, roles, "go to people"
• clear explanation of roles, administrative, staff, teacher
• trust, confidence, accountability, authority, approval
• no sugar coating, problems directly shared, honestly
• communication/conversation protocals
• how do we get answers to our questions
• note taker, meeting minutes, for absent people especially
• fair and equal treatment, favoritism,
  
• how to handle disagreements
• go to people
• representatives?
• procedures for communication
  
• present all options, whether beneficial or not
• agree for the overall good of the school
• elect UFT rep(s)
• separate indiv. from group issues
